Which Pixel Lineage class should you pick?
Choose Warrior for a forgiving melee start or Archer for ranged play. Choose Mage for spells and Bard for team support; Fist and Thief suit players ready for a less forgiving kit.[1]
Choose the job you want before choosing a tier letter. This guide uses learning difficulty, playstyle and party role; it does not present a measured damage ranking.
The starting-class descriptions come from Sho Roberts at Gamezebo. This is a single publication, not independent testing. Recommendations below are editorial choices based on those descriptions.
The six Pixel Lineage starting classes
| Class | Role and learning curve | Choose it when |
|---|---|---|
| Warrior | Melee; accessible, balanced attack and defense. | You want room to learn the combat. |
| Archer | Ranged; accessible, with a defensive trade-off. | You prefer ranged attacks. |
| Mage | Spells; slower opening, more options later. | You want a magic-focused character. |
| Bard | Support and healing; harder to learn. | You plan to help a party. |
| Fist | Close combat; demanding to master. | You want a hands-on melee kit. |
| Thief | Fast, fragile offense. | You are comfortable defending. |
These role summaries follow Gamezebo's class comparison. Its tier letters are the author’s opinion about progression; they are not official ratings.[1]

Choose a class for the problem you want to solve
Learning the game
Shortlist Warrior and Archer. Choose melee or ranged first, then use that kit long enough to learn its defensive rhythm.
Playing with friends
Consider Bard if the party needs support. If everyone wants offense, discuss roles before committing another fragile character.
Building around spells
Choose Mage for that direction. A slow opening is a reason to plan around its learning curve, not evidence that its later kit is weak.
Taking a harder start
Consider Fist or Thief when you enjoy their combat style. Difficulty is a cost to learn, not a promise of higher endgame damage.
These are selection rules, not claims about clear rates. If a recommendation only makes sense with gear, a race or an upgrade you do not have, use the starting-kit comparison instead of assuming the whole build is already available.
Base, Super and Ultra are different decisions
Your base class sets the family. Adele Wilson's Gamezebo guide places the Trainer's Shrine in Act 2, The Dungeon, where three Super branches are offered for that base. Its skill schedule is one ability on selection, then further abilities at levels 10 and 14.[2]
- Pick the base for its playstyle. Do not choose a starting kit you dislike only because a later name sounds strong.
- At the shrine, read the actual three choices. Compare what your party needs and what you can currently use.
- Treat Ultra as a later step. The published guide describes an Ultra Sigil for awakening a Super class, with Tomes for later Ultra skills.[3]
We do not publish a fastest Sigil farm here. The available sources disagree about drop locations, and a progression overview cannot establish a reliable farming route.
Before changing your class
Gamezebo reports that changing the base class requires a reset, with materials, race and traits carried over. Check the live reset screen before confirming; this source does not justify a complete inventory-loss checklist.[1]
If the problem is a weak race fit or a talent that does little for your kit, investigate that choice before assuming you need a different class. Keep the diagnosis specific: a class you dislike, a passive mismatch and a difficult encounter require different decisions.
